Bradbury
began painting to stay out of trouble when he was 18 years old.
Diagnosed as Bi-Polar, he had dropped out of school and was running
wild. He was traveling cross country and sleeping in the woods when it
occurred to him to make a painting to sell.
He sold his first painting for $30. on the streets of
Seattle
in 2000.
Coming
back to
Florida
that same year, Bradbury began making assemblage art from objects he
found riding his bike around
Panama City
. He developed a loyal following among the young people by giving away
or leaving his distinctive artwork in public places.
His
first group show was “Heart to Heart” at Eileen West Gallery in Feb
2005. The first painting he brought to the gallery sold opening night.
Since that time he was produced a huge volume of remarkable work. Now
22, he is the resident artist of Van Gogh’s Ear, a temporary
experiment in on-site working artists at
Ruskin Place
in
Seaside
